26 latest hospital, health system executive moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported on the following hospital and health system executive moves in the last week.

They are listed below, in alphabetical order.

1. Marietta, Ga.-based WellStar Health System named Callie Andrews senior vice president of the health system and president of WellStar Cobb Hospital in Austell, Ga.

2. University of Cincinnati Medical Center tapped Beverly Bokovitz, DNP, RN, to serve as chief nursing officer.

3. Crystal River, Fla.-based Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center CEO Austin Brown is departing for a new role at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg (Fla.), effective April 20.

4. Coshocton (Ohio) Regional Medical Center promoted Gary J. Carver, MD, to CMO.

5. Hackensack Meridian Health's Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel, N.J., tapped Frank Citara to serve as COO.

6. Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare, a 45-hospital system, named Will Conaway CIO.

7. Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital named Kelly Cullen executive vice president and COO.

8. Gabrielle Cummings will step into the president role at NorthShore Highland Park (Ill.) Hospital.

9. McAlester (Okla.) Regional Health Center appointed Jim Fraser CFO.

10. Evanston, Ill.-based NorthShore University HealthSystem appointed Jesse Peterson Hall president of NorthShore Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview, Ill.

11. Indianapolis-based Indiana University Health selected Dan Handel, MD, to serve as CMO of its south central region.

12. Petersburg (Alaska) Medical Center selected Phil Hofstetter to serve as CEO, effective this summer.

13. Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System selected Sam Huenergardt to serve as CEO for Shawnee (Kan.) Mission Health as well as CEO of its Mid-America Region, effective May 28.

14. Bayfront Health Spring Hill (Fla.) selected Michael Irvin to serve as CEO, effective May 8.

15. Nashville, Tenn.-based Ardent Health Services appointed Richard Keller senior vice president and CIO.

16. Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Erlanger Health System named Mark Kimball CEO of Erlanger Murphy (N.C.) Medical Center, effective June 4.

17. Cortez, Colo.-based Southwest Health System ousted CFO Angela Kobel April 13, 10 days after terminating three members of its executive leadership team, the health system's board of directors announced April 16.

18. Barbara W. Lay, CEO of Pocahontas Memorial Hospital in Buckeye, W.Va., is retiring, effective Oct. 1.

19. Kalispell (Mont.) Regional Healthcare Chief Nursing Officer Karen Lee, RN, plans to retire Dec. 31.

20. Kalispell (Mont.) Regional Healthcare CFO and CIO Charles Pearce resigned recently.

21. Indianapolis-based St. Vincent, part of St. Louis-based Ascension, named Gwynn Perlich, BSN, MSN, permanent COO of its southwest region.

22. Victor Politi, MD, the CEO and president of East Meadow, N.Y. based-Nassau University Medical Center, was fired April 18 by the board that oversees the hospital.

23. Dave Rahija will assume the president role at NorthShore Skokie (Ill.) Hospital.

24. Peter Savoy, CEO of Eureka Springs (Ark.) Hospital, is resigning for a new job opportunity in May.

25. Portland-based Oregon Health & Science University Healthcare CEO Mitch Wasden resigned after a little over a year into his tenure,

26. OSF Saint Luke Medical Center in Kewanee, Ill., appointed Shelley Wiborg, RN, chief nursing officer.
