23 recent hospital, health system executive moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported the following hospital and health system executive moves in the last week:

1. Summerville (S.C.) Medical Center has tapped Sonia Baughman to serve as CFO, effective Dec. 16.

2. Leesburg-based Central Florida Health has selected David H. Berger, MD, to serve as senior vice president and COO.

3. Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., named Deborah Bitsoli president, effective Dec. 2.

4. Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Ill., has selected Timothy M. Carrigan, PhD, RN, to serve as chief nursing officer, effective Dec. 9.

5. Whittier, Calif.-based PIH Health appointed Anita Chou CFO.

6. San Francisco-based Dignity Health has tapped Joseph D'Angina to serve as CFO of Mercy Medical Center Redding (Calif.).

7. Randy DeGroot, president of ProMedica Coldwater (Mich.) Regional Hospital, is retiring, effective Jan. 10.

8. Asheville, N.C.-based Mission Health has selected Tonia W. Hale, DNP, RN, to serve as CEO of Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, N.C., effective Dec. 16.

9. University Hospital & Medical Center in Tamarac, Fla., selected Ben Harris as CEO.

10. Joe Hugar, president of Sharon (Pa.) Regional Medical Center, is no longer working at the hospital.

11. Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center and Sunrise Children's Hospital in Las Vegas has appointed Cynthia Johnson, RN, chief nursing officer.

12. Philip Koovakada, CEO of Nacogdoches, Texas-based NMC Health Network, is resigning for a new job opportunity.

13. St. David's South Austin (Texas) Medical Center has tapped Kyle Landry as COO, effective this month.

14. EvergreenHealth Monroe (Wash.) named Lisa LaPlante chief administrative officer.

15. Jefferson Community Health & Life in Fairbury, Neb., has appointed Victor Lee interim CEO.

16. Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg, Idaho, appointed Paul Lewis as CEO, effective at the beginning of 2020.

17. Helen Lidholm, CEO of Saint Mary's Health Network in Reno, Nev., is planning to step down Jan. 31.

18. Lancaster (Pa.) General Health named Steve Littleson, DBA, chief operating and integration officer.

19. Cleveland Clinic appointed James Merlino, MD, its inaugural chief clinical transformation officer, effective Dec. 1.

20. Rand O'Leary was selected to serve as president of Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, effective Dec. 9.

21. Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg, Idaho, named Tim Powers as CFO, effective in 2020.

22. J. Allen Tyra, CEO of North Mississippi Medical Center Gilmore-Amory, is resigning Dec. 13.

23. John F. Wilbanks, executive vice president and COO of Jacksonville, Fla.-based Baptist Health, is retiring at the end of the year.
