23 latest hospital, health system executive moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported on the following hospital and health system executive moves during the last week.

The moves are listed below, in alphabetical order by the executive's last name.

1. Fort Bragg, Calif.-based Mendocino Coast District Hospital named Wayne Allen interim CEO.

2. Boca Raton, Fla.-based Cancer Treatment Centers of America appointed Pat A. Basu, MD, president and CEO, effective April 1.

3. Matt Caldwell will become the new president of Bon Secours' Greenville (S.C.) market April 29.

4. Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer, Mass., dropped the 'interim' from President Korry Dow's title.

5. Meridian, Miss.-based Anderson Regional Health System selected Keith Everett, MD, to serve as vice president and CMO.

6. Mercy Health-Springfield (Ohio) selected Adam Groshans to serve as interim president.

7. Kevin Halter, president of Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, Ky., is retiring April 30.

8. Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare appointed Jerad Hanlon chief strategy officer of Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach, Fla., as well as its Palm Beach hospitals.

9. Suffolk, Va.-based Sentara Obici Hospital Vice President of Medical Affairs Lora Herman, MD, is resigning.

10. McCook, Neb.-based Community Hospital named Molly Herzberg, RN, vice president of clinical services and chief nursing officer.

11. Burlington-based University of Vermont Health Network selected Christopher Hickey to serve as CFO of Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone, N.Y.

12. Brownwood (Texas) Regional Medical Center appointed Jace Jones permanent CEO, effective April 8.

13. Suffolk, Va.-based Sentara Obici Hospital President Steve Julian, MD, is retiring in early May after six years in the role.

14. Karen Kerr, president of South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City, Fla., is now president of Bartow (Fla.) Regional Medical Center as well.

15. St. Louis-based Ascension appointed Don King senior vice president and ministry market executive for its Kansas region, effective April 15.

16. Jay Kreuzer, CEO of Honolulu-based Hawaii Health Systems Corporation's West Hawaii Region and of Kona Community Hospital in Kealakekua, Hawaii, is retiring, effective at the end of the year.

17. Grand Rapids, Minn.-based Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital appointed Jean MacDonell interim president.

18. Medical City Lewisville (Texas) selected Allen Marsh to serve as COO.

19. New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C., tapped West Paul, MD, PhD, to serve as chief clinical officer, effective April 29.

20. Tampa, Fla.-based Northside Hospital appointed Valerie Powell-Stafford CEO, effective April 1.

21. HCA Houston Healthcare tapped Evan Ray to serve as executive vice president and chief administrative officer, a newly created role, effective April 1.

22. Donna Russell-Cook, president of Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, retired.

23. Suffolk, Va.-based Sentara Obici Hospital Nurse Executive Phyllis Stoneburner is retiring.
