21 latest hospital, health system executive moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported on the following hospital and health system executive moves in the last week.

They are listed below, in alphabetical order.

1. Bentonville, Ark.-based Northwest Health appointed Steve Badger CEO of Northwest Medical Center-Bentonville, effective Sept. 27.

2. Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Ala., tapped Matt Blevins to serve as COO.

3. UCF Lake Nona Medical Center in Orlando, Fla., will welcome Wendy Brandon as CEO in January 2019.

4. Bill Carpenter, CEO and chairman of Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health, will retire upon completion of his company's merger with RCCH HealthCare Partners, also based in Brentwood.

5. Roxanna L. Gapstur has been named the president and CEO of York, Pa.-based WellSpan Health, effective Jan. 2.

6. Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health appointed William Haugh market president of its Central Kentucky region, effective Sept. 24.

7. William Jennings will leave his positions as president and CEO of Bridgeport (Conn.) Hospital and executive vice president of Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health to become president and CEO of Reading (Penn.) Hospital.

8. Topeka, Kan.-based Stormont Vail Health appointed Robert Kenagy, MD, president and CEO.

9. Maggie Gill is leaving her role as CEO of Culpeper, Va.-based Novant Health UVA Health System after only a year to assume multiple leadership positions in Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare's Florida operations.

10. A. Hugh Greene will retire as CEO of Jacksonville-based Baptist Health of Northeast Florida in 2019, once a permanent replacement is found.

11. Olathe (Kan.) Health System selected Stan Holm to serve as president and CEO, effective Nov. 1.

12. University Hospital in Newark, N.J., named Mary K. E. Maples chief legal officer.

13. Frank May, CEO and president of Steamboat Springs, Co.-based UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center, will retire Dec. 31 after serving the hospital for 20 years.

14. Randy Peterson will retire as president and CEO of Topeka, Kan.-based Stormont Vail Health by March 31, 2019.

15. Baptist Health Corbin (Ky.) named Anthony Powers permanent president, effective Sept. 25.

16. Rich Robinson, CEO of Astria Regional Medical Center in Yakima, Wash., is retiring at the end of October.

17. Akron (Ohio) Children's Hospital named Sarah Rush, MD, a pediatric oncologist who's been with the system since 2013, as its new chief medical information officer.

18. Sacramento, Calif.-based UC Davis Health named Brad Simmons interim CEO of UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento.

19. Phoenix-based Banner Health appointed Chad Whelan, MD, CEO of Banner-University Medicine in Tucson, Ariz.

20. St. Charles, Mo.-based CenterPointe Hospital appointed Scott Williams CEO.

21. Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health selected James L. Woodward to serve as president and CEO of its newly formed five-hospital system called Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic.
