20 recent hospital, health system executive moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported the following hospital and health system executive moves in the last week.

They're listed below, in alphabetical order, by the executive's last name.

1. Hackensack Meridian Health in Edison, N.J., selected Theresa M. Brodrick, PhD, RN, to serve as executive vice president and network chief nurse executive, effective April 1.

2. Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, Ala., selected Kyle Buchanan to serve as president, effective in June.

3. Largo (Fla.) Medical Center tapped Wyatt Chocklett to serve as COO.

4. Gail Donovan, president of health services and COO of Cincinnati-based TriHealth, is planning to step down.

5. Jim Flynn, CEO of Galesburg (Ill.) Cottage Hospital, is resigning in mid-May.

6. Newport (R.I.) Hospital has appointed Jeffrey Gaines, MD, vice president of medical affairs and CMO, effective July 1.

7. Carondelet St. Mary's Hospital in Tucson, Ariz., has appointed Ryan Harper COO.

8. Doctors Hospital of Sarasota (Fla.) selected Peter Hemstead to serve as COO.

9. Alamosa, Colo.-based San Luis Valley Health named Christine Hettinger-Hunt COO.

10. Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk, Va., named Stephanie Jackson, DNP, chief nurse executive, effective June 24.

11. Orange City, Fla.-based AdventHealth Fish Memorial hospital tapped Stephen Knych, MD, to serve as CMO, effective May 6.

12. St. Louis-based Ascension appointed Jeffrey D. Nowlin senior vice president and ministry market executive for its Oklahoma region, effective April 29.

13. Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health selected Michael Parkerson to serve as senior vice president and chief marketing officer, effective May 1.

14. UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass., tapped Justin Precourt to serve as chief nursing officer.

15. Medical City Denton (Texas) appointed Adam Proctor CFO.

16. Karen Profitt Newman, EdD, RN, vice president and chief nursing officer of Baptist Health Louisville (Ky.), is retiring, effective June 30 after 20 years of service at the hospital.

17. Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis named Maria Russo CIO, a new position, effective May 1.

18. St. John's Medical Center in Jackson, Wyo., named Marsha K. Sensat chief nursing officer, effective April 1.

19. Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Ala., named Paul Storey COO.

20. Hershey, Pa.-based Penn State Health selected Paula Tinch to serve as senior vice president and CFO, effective June 3.
