17 recent hospital, health system executive moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported the following hospital and health system executive moves in the last week.

They're listed below, in alphabetical order, by the executive's last name.

1. James J. Barba, president and CEO of Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center, is planning to retire, effective March 31, 2020.

2. Novant Health has appointed Leslie Barrett president and COO of Novant Health Medical Park Hospital in Winston-Salem.

3. Venice (Fla.) Regional Bayfront Health selected Benjamin Brodersen to serve as COO.

4. Crawford County Memorial Hospital President and CEO Bill Bruce is retiring, effective Dec. 31.

5. Longmont, Colo.-based UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital President Lonnie Cramer will also lead UCHealth Broomfield (Colo.) Hospital in a dual role.

6. Franklin, Ind.-based Johnson Memorial Health has selected David Dunkle, MD, to serve as president and CEO.

7. Lee Goldman, MD, chief executive of New York City-based Columbia University Irving Medical Center, will leave the role after 14 years, effective June 30, 2020.

8. Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Lutheran Health Network appointed Jake Golich CEO of St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne, effective July 8.

9. New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System appointed Andrew Kasarskis, PhD, executive vice president and chief data officer, a newly created role.

10. George V. Masi, president and CEO of Houston-based Harris Health System, plans to retire, effective May 1, 2020.

11. Terre Haute, Ind.-based Union Health appointed Matt Nealon CFO, effective July 8.

12. Greenville, S.C.-based Prisma Health named Mark S. O'Halla president and CEO, effective in mid-August.

13. Sherry Perkins, PhD, RN, president and CEO of Cheverly-based University of Maryland Capital Region Health, resigned May 24 to take another job.

14. Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, Calif., named Sharon Perry, RN, chief nursing officer, effective June 24.

15. Duluth, Minn.-based Essentia Health announced May 28 that Jon Pryor, MD, will serve as president of its East Market.

16. Cincinnati-based Bon Secours Mercy Health tapped Patton Paul Smith Jr. to serve as president of its Mid-American Group, effective July 1.

17. Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente named Ann Williamson, PhD, RN, BSN, MSN, its regional chief nurse executive and vice president for Northern California.
