15 latest hospital, health system executive retirements

Becker's Hospital Review reported on the following hospital and health system executive retirements in the last four weeks.

They are listed below, in alphabetical order.

1. Carol Aaron, chief administrative officer of Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth, will retire by the end of the year.

2. Glenwood Springs, Colo.-based Valley View Hospital CEO Gary Brewer will retire this summer.

3. David George, MD, vice president of academic affairs and chief academic officer at Reading (Pa.) Hospital, retired.

4. Craig Hillemeier, MD, the CEO of Hershey, Pa.-based Penn State Health and dean of its affiliated medical school, plans to resign from his roles later this year.

5. Poughkeepsie, N.Y.-based MidHudson Regional Hospital Executive Director Paul Hochenberg is retiring later this year.

6. Teri Fontenot, president and CEO of Baton Rouge, La.-based Woman's Hospital, is retiring in the summer.

7. Grand Forks, N.D.-based Altru Health System President Eric Lunn, MD, is retiring in March.

8. Anacortes, Wash.-based Island Hospital CEO Vince Oliver plans to retire May 31.

9. Donna Poduska, chief nursing officer of UCHealth Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colo., retired at the end of February.

10. Rick Seidler, president and CEO of UnityPoint Health-Trinity, is retiring May 1.

11. Richard P. Shannon, MD, executive vice president for health affairs at Charlottesville-based University of Virginia, is retiring in May.

12. Debbie Simon, BSN, CEO of Peoria-based UnityPoint Health in Central Illinois, is retiring June 30.

13. Charles "Chuck" D. Stokes, president and CEO of Houston-based Memorial Hermann Health System, will retire at the end of the year.

14. Tom Urban, president and CEO of Mercy Health-Fairfield (Ohio) Hospital, retired March 1.

15. Patrick Wardell, CEO of Cambridge (Mass.) Health Alliance, is planning to retire in July.
