14 latest hospital, health system CEO moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported the following hospital and health system CEO moves in the last week.

They are listed below, in alphabetical order.

1. Gary Bebow, CEO of White River Health System in Batesville, Ark., is retiring Dec. 31, after 27 years at the helm of the organization.

2. Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Ill., selected Harry Brockus to serve as its permanent CEO.

3. Colorado Springs, Colo.-based Penrose-St. Francis Health Services named Brian Erling, MD, permanent CEO.

4. Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare selected Saju George to serve as regional CEO, overseeing two Michigan-based hospitals.

5. Evergreen Park, Ill.-based Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers appointed John P. Hanlon, MD, president and CEO.

6. Sarah D. Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville, Ill., appointed John Kessler CEO, effective Sept. 4.

7. Manitowoc, Wis.-based Holy Family Memorial, a part of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Sponsored Ministries, named Brett Norell permanent president and CEO.

8. Randall L. O'Donnell, PhD, president and CEO of Children's Mercy Kansas City (Mo.), is retiring sooner than expected, stating that he has been "having some health challenges."

9. Gene O'Hara, PharmD, CEO of Colorado Plains Medical Center in Ft. Morgan, is retiring.

10. Cincinnati-based The Christ Hospital Health Network named Arturo Polizzi president and CEO, effective Oct. 8.

11. David Schertz, regional CEO with Peoria, Ill.-based OSF HealthCare, is retiring Aug. 31.

12. Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury selected Shawn Tester to serve as CEO, effective Nov. 26.

13. T.J. Regional Health in Glasgow, Ky., dropped the "interim" from CEO Neil Thornbury's title.

14. Art Ushijima, president and CEO of The Queen's Health Systems in Honolulu, Hawaii, will retire in January 2020.
