12 latest hospital, health system CNO and CMO moves

The following 12 hospital and health system CNO and CMO moves occurred or were announced in the last four weeks, starting with the most recent.

 

1. Cortland (N.Y.) Regional Medical Center named Russell Firman, MD, as its new CMO.

2. The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance appointed Theresa M. McDonnell, DNP, MSN, as vice president of clinical operations and chief nurse executive.

3. Mary Beck, DNP, RN, was promoted from chief nurse and vice president of patient care services at Bone Hospital Center in Columbia to CNO of Columbia-based University of Missouri Health Care.

4. Paul R. Sierzenski, MD, became vice president and CMO of acute care services of Renown Health in Reno, Nev.

5. Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio, eliminated its CMO position, which had been held by Vivian von Gruenigen, MD.

6. Charles Kilo, MD, announced he would leave his role of CMO of Portland-based OHSU Healthcare. Michael Bonazzola, MD, took over as the interim CMO.

7. El Paso, Texas-based Del Sol Medical Center named Annie Garcia, BSN, as CNO, effective June 5.

8. Jean Ten Haken, MSN, RN, the senior vice president of patient care services and CNO of Manchester, N.H.-based Elliot Health System, became the system's COO on May 1.

9. Margaret Coster, MSN, RN, retired from her post as CEO and CNO of Fairmont (W.Va.) Regional Medical Center on April 30.

10. Columbus (Ind.) Regional Health named R. Lee Kiser, MD, as associate CMO for Columbus Regional Hospital and Slade Crowder, MD, as associate CMO for Columbus Regional Health Physicians.

11. Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick named Robert J. Bernasek, MD, as CMO.

12. Suzanne Labriola, DO, was named CMO of Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights, Pa.
