11 recent hospital, health system executive moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported the following hospital and health system executive moves in the last week:

1. Lakewood (Calif.) Regional Medical Center appointed Michael Paul Amos COO. 

2. Anna Chiotti, MSN, BSN, was named CEO of Kona Community Hospital in Kealakekua, Hawaii, and Kohala Hospital in Kapaau, Hawaii. 

3. Jim Cole, president and CEO of Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, plans to retire next year.

4. Amy Fine, CEO of Bandon, Ore.-based Southern Coos Hospital and Health Center, accepted a new three-year contract offered by the hospital's board 

5. UofL Health selected Aaron Garofola to lead its Shelbyville, Ky., campus as CEO.

6. Melissa Memorial Hospital in Holyoke, Colo., selected Cathy Harshbarger, BSN, RN, to serve as interim CEO.

7. Axis Health System CEO Bern Heath, PhD, will retire after leading the Durango, Colo.-based health system for more than 19 years.   

8. The Cape Fear Valley Health System in Fayetteville, N.C., named COO Daniel Weatherly and CFO Sandra Williams as acting senior leadership while CEO Michael Nagowskiis on medical leave.

9. Stephanie Reel will retire from Johns Hopkins on July 1 after three decades as an IT leader at the Baltimore-based institution.

10. Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, N.C., selected Adia K. Ross, MD, to serve as CMO.

11. Natchitoches (La.) Regional Medical Center tapped Ronnie Ursin, DNP, BSN, RN, to serve as CNO.
