10 latest hospital, health system CEO moves

Becker's Hospital Review reported the following hospital and health system CEO moves in the last week.

They are listed below, in alphabetical order.

1. Louis Giancola, president and CEO of Wakefield, R.I.-based South County Health, is retiring.

2. Alliance (Ohio) Community Hospital CEO Stan Jonas is retiring at the end of June.

3. Richland, Wash.-based Kadlec health system selected Reza Kaleel to serve as its new CEO, effective in January 2019.

4. Glencoe (Minn.) Regional Health Services selected Jeffrey S. Mason, BSN, RN, to serve as president and CEO, effective June 19.

5. Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Fredericksburg, Va., dropped 'interim' from CEO David McKnight's title.

6. Jacksonville, Fla.-based Nemours Foundation, also known as Nemours Children's Health System, appointed R. Lawrence Moss, MD, president and CEO, effective Oct. 1.

7. Lake Granbury (Texas) Medical Center named David Orcutt CEO, effective June 25.

8. William L. Roper, MD, CEO of Chapel Hill, N.C.-based UNC Health Care and dean of the UNC School of Medicine, will retire May 15, 2019.

9. Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Avera Health tapped Bob Sutton to serve as president and CEO, effective June 18.

10. Andy Wachtel, CEO of Saint Thomas Highlands Hospital in Sparta, Tenn., Saint Thomas Stones River Hospital in Woodbury, Tenn., and Saint Thomas DeKalb Hospital in Smithville, Tenn., is transitioning out of the roles.
