Bridget Denzik, DNP, NSN, RN, has been selected as the chief nursing officer of Frye Regional Medical Center, the Hickory, N.C.-based hospital said Aug. 28. 

Mark Behl, executive vice president and COO at Milwaukee-based Froedtert Health, has resigned from his position effective Sept. 1.

St. David’s Georgetown (Texas) Hospital has named Jonelle Thomas, MSN, RN, as its new chief nursing officer, according to an Aug. 31 news release shared with Becker's.

Overland Park, Kan.-based HCA Midwest Health has appointed Allie Krass associate vice president of community engagement, effective Aug. 31.

Estes Park (Colo.) Health CIO Gary Hall plans to retire after 18 years with the health system.

Rosalind "Roz" Brewer — a former Starbucks and Sam's Club executive — has stepped down as CEO of Walgreens Boot Alliance after taking on the position in March 2021, the retail chain said Sept. 1. 

Advocate Health Executive Vice President and CFO Anthony DeFurio has resigned, according to an Aug. 28 voluntary disclosure from the Charlotte, N.C.-based system. 

IRCAD North America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health, has named Dionisios Vrochides, MD, as its executive director.

The Albion, Neb.-based Boone County Health Center has appointed Caleb Poore as its next president and CEO, according to an Aug. 30 news release.

Six hospitals and health systems named new CFOs Aug. 28-29: 

Salem (Ill.) Township Hospital has named Amy Gray CFO, according to local radio station WJBD. 

Logan, Ohio-based Hocking Valley Community Hospital has named Randy Montgomery CFO. 

Michael Pencina, PhD, has been named the inaugural chief data scientist of Durham, N.C.-based Duke Health.

Jeremy Zoch, PhD, CEO of Providence St. Joseph Hospital in Orange, Calif., is leaving his role Sept. 1 after 11 years of service. 

Maryville, Ill.-based Anderson Healthcare System has named Patrick Garvey CFO. 

In the first seven months of 2023, CEO exits hit a 21-year high. The 100 moves that occurred within hospitals through July is nearing the 103 moves within hospitals that occurred through all of 2022, Becker's Kelly Gooch reports — and that trend appears to be continuing through August.
