CFO Terry Kiser: Funding Success at Georgetown Hospital System

Since 1988, Terry Kiser has held down the role of CFO of Georgetown (S.C.) Hospital System, and the two-hospital system has made significant financial progress since he first started.

Terry Kiser is CFO of Georgetown Hospital System.Georgetown Hospital System is comprised of two hospitals: Georgetown (S.C.) Memorial Hospital and Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, S.C. The health system expanded in 2002, when WCH opened, and its net revenue base grew to $274 million in fiscal year 2011.

Earlier this year, Moody's Investors Service said Mr. Kiser and the financial team have installed policies that have led to "consistently strong profitability and cash flow." In the past five years, Georgetown Hospital System has posted operating margins between 3.1 percent and 4.5 percent, and cash flow margins have ranged between 10.8 percent and 12.6 percent.

Moody's analysts also said the "stable and tenured management team," which includes Mr. Kiser, the CEO and COO, have worked at Georgetown Hospital System for more than 13 years together, which has led to the health system's favorable market position.

Before joining Georgetown Hospital System, Mr. Kiser was CFO of Buchanan General Hospital in Grundy, Va.
