CFO Don Pounds: Overseeing New Growth at Baptist Memorial Health Care

Don Pounds has built up to his position as senior vice president and CFO of Baptist Memorial Health Care Corp. since he began as controller of a Baptist hospital in 1987. Now, Mr. Pounds is helping to build Baptist up with a $33.1 million construction project to grow its hospitals and services.

DonPoundsCelebrating its 100th year in operation, the 14-hospital network based in Memphis, Tenn., will spend the next year constructing a new 59,400-square-foot, 49-bed rehabilitation hospital under Mr. Pounds' tenure. At the same time, the hospital chain will embark on a nearly $100 million initiative to relocate and expand its pediatric emergency department and cancer center.

Mr. Pounds graduated with a bachelor's in business administration from the University of Mississippi. He is a certified public accountant and a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
