CEO Susan Peach: Bringing a Patients-First Philosophy to HighPoint Health System

Susan Peach, BSN, MBA, has served as CEO of HighPoint Health System in Gallatin, Tenn., since July 2012. HighPoint is part of Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Hospitals.  

Prior to taking the reins at the four-hospital system, Ms. Peach served as CNO of LifePoint Hospitals' Hospital Support Center Delta Division. As Delta Division CNO, she oversaw clinical operations at nine LifePoint hospitals, including HighPoint's four hospitals. She has more than 30 years of healthcare administrative experience.peach

Health systems like HighPoint have many moving parts, but as a healthcare leader, Ms. Peach always puts one thing first: the patient. "My philosophy for my team is simple: You either directly care for our patients or your role is to serve those who do," she wrote in the fall 2012 HealthPoint Newsletter. "I'm here to serve those who care for our patients by providing leadership and direction for our system."

In recognition of her years of healthcare leadership, Becker's Hospital Review named Ms. Peach to its 2012 list of 300 Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know.

Ms. Peach earned her MBA from Georgia State University in Atlanta. She is also is a Black Belt in Six Sigma.
