In this capacity — and throughout his career — Mr. Moen and his team have advocated for hospital joint ventures that promote shared governance and genuine, long-lasting relationships with community leaders, hospital leaders and physician and employee stakeholders.

Mr. Moen's contribution to the healthcare market is evidence in the fact that, with the rest of the LHP management team, he has been involved in more than 70 percent of all the whole-hospital joint venture transactions between taxable and tax-exempt health systems in the nation over the past 20 years.

Mr. Moen began his healthcare career with Humana in 1977. He worked there in positions of increasing responsibility for 14 years, managing hospitals in Virginia, West Virginia, Florida and Mexico. Mr. Moen was also responsible for Humana's Florida managed care division. After serving Humana, he worked for Nashville, Tenn.-based Columbia Hospital Corp., now HCA, from 1991 to 1998. Mr. Moen first served as president of the Columbia Sponsored Network Group and was responsible for the company's managed care subsidiaries. From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Moen worked in the healthcare consulting field, and in 2001, he returned to managed care as CEO of HIP Health Plan of Florida in Miami before becoming executive vice president of development of Triad Hospitals, now Community Health Systems in Franklin, Tenn.
