Welldoc, Validic partner to increase patient engagement with digital health data

Andrea Park -

Welldoc, a digital health company in Baltimore, has joined forces with Durham, N.C.-based medical data management firm Validic to better enable patients' access to, engagement with and management of their personal health data.

With Validic's access to data from more than 375 wearables, apps and home health devices integrated into Welldoc's existing BlueStar health tracking and coaching platform, patients will gain a better understanding of how their daily activities impact their health.

The partnership will specifically cater to patients with chronic conditions. Using BlueStar's new Validic-powered "bring-your-own-device" strategy, which will provide more holistic feedback than was previously available, these patients will be able to self-manage their conditions outside the clinical setting more effectively.
