UN: US ranks No. 2 in commitment to cybersecurity

Singapore ranked the No. 1 country committed to cybersecurity, followed by the United States, according to a United Nations report.

For the Global Cybersecurity Index report, the U.N. International Telecommunication Union evaluated the cybersecurity commitment of almost 200 countries. "Cybersecurity is an ecosystem where laws, organizations, skills, cooperation and technical implementation need to be in harmony to be most effective," the report states.

The agency found 38 percent of governments have a published cybersecurity strategy, while 12 percent of countries are in the process of developing one.
