Uber delivers free flu shots in 15 cities

Jessica Kim Cohen -

For the third year, Uber has delivered free flu vaccines to app users across the United States, according to an Uber blog post.

Using a "Health" option on the Uber app, which was available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 25, users were able to request free flu shots for up to five people. The vaccines were delivered to the app user's location and were administered by registered nurses from Passport Health, a corporate wellness provider.

The 15 participating cities include Albany, N.Y.; Baltimore; Boston; Birmingham, Ala.; Chicago; Columbus, Ohio; Hartford, Conn.; Wilmington, Del.; Houston, Texas; Jacksonville, Fla.; Manchester, N.H.; Portland, Maine; Providence, R.I.; Syracuse, N.Y., and Washington, D.C. Uber encourages users who were unable to receive vaccines through "Uber for Health" to use the HealthMap-developed online service Vaccine Finder.
