The American Medical Group Association teams up with workflow tech company to figure out 'chore' from 'core' tasks

The American Medical Group Association has entered a partnership with platform provider IKS Health to explore which tasks are necessary in the clinical workflow and create a plan to streamline provider operations, according to an April 6 news release

The collaboration between the two organizations will aim to distinguish "chore" from "core" tasks and then streamline workflows using that knowledge. IKS Health will conduct surveys and focus groups with association members to obtain this information. The results of the collaboration will be shared at a forum planned in the fall of 2022 and attendees will learn about which tasks create bottlenecks in provider operations.

"Our more than 400 member medical groups and health systems have faced historic challenges to delivering care these past several years, including significant staffing shortages, a growing supply and demand gap in care access, and a rapidly changing reimbursement environment," said Jerry Penso, MD, association president and chief executive officer. "We are pleased to partner with IKS Health to reexamine how expertise and technology can supplement to better preserve providers' ability to care for patients."
