Memphis, Tenn.-based Qsource, a non-profit healthcare quality improvement and IT company, announced that it is working with the Tennessee Office of eHealth Initiatives to implement and support a new initiative called Health eShare.
The initiative aims at encouraging adoption of health information exchange between healthcare providers in Tennessee. The initial venture is the Health eShare Direct Project, which urges providers to adopt a technology called Direct, which will facilitate secure transmission of health information.
Qsource is also providing education, outreach and technical assistance to interested healthcare professionals. The company anticipates unveiling a statewide HIE initiative by the end of the year.
