Telemedicine startup eVisit raises $1M

Telemedicine continues to gain traction in healthcare, driven by provider and patient interest, as well as support from the investment sector.

Telemedicine startup eVisit raised $1 million through a seed found of fundraising. The fundraising round was completed in less than seven months.

The startup offers a secure video platform for remote, two-way video consultations.

"One of the reasons I think we were able to complete our funding round so quickly was the interest we were seeing from doctors," said eVisit cofounder, Glen McCracken, MD. "Many people within and outside the healthcare field realize we need to change something to make care delivery simpler for both providers and patients. We're offering a solution that does just that, while reinforcing the doctor-patient relationship."

In addition to the startup's new funding, eVisit also grew its employee number to 13 within the past six months.
