Physicians prefer using tablets over smartphones for clinical purposes, such as accessing electronic health records, according to two reports released by AmericanEHR Partners.

Researchers surveyed 1,400 physicians about their use of mobile devices for various job-related activities.

Results showed that 51 percent of tablet-using physicians used their device to access EHRs, as compared to 7 percent of smartphone users. Additionally, about 75 percent of tablet users are either somewhat or very satisfied with their devices.
