Ayla Ellison -

A new study released by Mobiquity, a mobile engagement provider, has found 70 percent of people use some type of health or fitness app on a daily basis, but 60 percent of those app users do not share the data with their physician.

The study also made the following findings:

  • 73 percent said they are healthier since they began using mobile apps to track their health

  • 34 percent said they would begin tracking their health using a mobile app if their physician recommended they do so

  • 61 percent said privacy concerns were keeping them utilizing health and fitness apps

The results of the study are based on interviews with 1,000 consumers who currently use or plan to use mobile apps to track their health or fitness.
