SCI Solutions, a referral management and patient scheduling company based in Campbell, Calif., and Kirkland, Wash., has acquired a software-as-a-service company to create one the of the largest referral management and care coordination software firms.
Here are four things to know.
1. SCI Solutions acquired Seattle-based Clarity Solutions. Clarity Solutions offers referral and insurance authorization services. The company uses a proprietary analytics platform.
2. More than 100 health systems, ACOs, imaging centers and physician practices use Clarity Solutions' services.
3. Together, SCI Solutions and Clarity Solutions will serve more than 700 hospitals and 10,000 physician practices.
4. "As health systems and accountable care networks build strategies for creating advantage in value-based care environments, they require better ways to intelligently manage utilization at the point of referral," said Joel French, CEO of SCI Solutions. "Together, Clarity and SCI have delivered a first-of-its-kind solution our clients will use to smartly steer clinically-appropriate utilization across their networks, improve convenience for patients and referring providers and reduce excessive costs associated with navigating complex insurance prior-authorization requirements."
