Florence, S.C.-based McLeod Health, which provides care for more than one million residents, will transition its seven acute hospitals and 90 ambulatory care centers to Cerner's health IT suite.

Currently, the system uses INVISION financial and Soarian clinical platforms. McLeod's senior vice president and CIO Jenean Blackmon said in a statement the system chose to move to Cerner because it's one of the most robust health IT management solutions available.

"With Cerner, we will provide our physicians with sophisticated tools to develop a more holistic view of each individual's health history by incorporating financial and community information with the clinical record," Ms. Blackmon said.

In addition to its health IT suite, McLeod is also implementing Cerner's population health management platform HealtheIntent.
