RCH received a stage 6 rating for its EHR in the inpatient and outpatient areas.

RCH went live on its $48 million (in Australian dollars) Epic EHR just after midnight on April 30, 2016. The hospital is Epic’s first Australian customer.

“The EMR has had an immediate impact on the way clinical care was delivered at the RCH,” said RCH CMIO Professor Mike South. “There were clear benefits for clinicians from day one in terms of the speed and ease with which they can access patient information through the EMR.”
