Rhode Island Introduces Healthcare Claims Database

Beginning in May, Rhode Island will implement its all-payer claims database that will require health insurers in the state to submit all medical, eligibility and pharmacy claims to the database, according to the Rhode Island Department of Health.

Through the program, health insurers will submit the required information with all personally identifiable information removed. The data collected will be used to identify opportunities for improvement in the quality of healthcare in the state.
