Precision genomics startup Color raises $75M

Andrea Park -

Color, a population genomics and healthcare technology company that counts Apple, Verily and, most recently, Sioux Falls, S.D.-based Sanford Health among its partners, has closed a $75 million funding round.

The financing was led by T. Rowe Price and Viking Global Investors, a Color spokesperson confirmed to Becker's Hospital Review, and will allow Color to further scale its efforts to apply genetic testing and genomic findings to preventive healthcare. The funding brings Color's total financing to more than $200 million, following an $80 million infusion in 2017.

The company spokesperson told Becker's the average size of its partner contracts has seen appropriately massive gains, increasing more than seven times in value in the past year. In 2019 alone, Color announced partnerships with Apple, Verily, Chicago-based NorthShore University HealthSystem and New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System.
