Practice Fusion Top-Rated EHR Among Primary Care Physicians

For the fifth year in a row, Practice Fusion's cloud-based electronic health record system was the top-rated EHR system among primary care physicians, according to Black Book Rankings.

Despite the fact that Practice Fusion's EHR system is free, the system's 2014 Edition certified status may have more to do with its popularity among physician practices. More than half (52 percent) of respondents to the Black Book survey consider their top decision criteria for EHR selection to be connectivity or meaningful use achievement. The second-most popular decision criteria were system and implementation costs at 42 percent.

"Year after year, we see Practice Fusion top our Top Ambulatory EHR Vendors reports," said Doug Brown, president and CEO of Black Book Market Research, in a news release. "It's clear that, even in a tightening and increasingly complex market, Practice Fusion is continuing to lead the industry by providing a product that is a vital part of their users' workflow, and critical to their practice."

Results were based on an independent survey of more than 22,000 qualified users of EHR systems, reporting on more than 600 EHR vendors.
