Online investment firm to open marketplace for blockchain startups in Q2

Jessica Kim Cohen -

The online investment platform BnkToTheFuture plans to open a marketplace for blockchain startups during the second quarter of 2018, Bloomberg reports.

Accredited investors on the market will be able to trade equity stakes in startups involved with blockchain. BnkToTheFuture will use a blockchain ledger to record these investments and will issue equity-backed tokens on the ethereum blockchain to enable participants to pay for deal analysis and investor relations services.

The firm hopes to raise up to $33 million during their initial fundraising effort in February 2018.

"By [2018] year-end, we could have 50 percent of the major companies in the sector on our platform," BnkToTheFuture CEO Simon Dixon told Bloomberg.
