HHS' ONC refreshed its website, HealthIT.gov, to serve as an easy to use resource on all things health IT, the agency wrote in a blog post April 2.
In interviews with stakeholders, ONC determined it could better serve the industry's needs by creating a new, easily navigable, informative, redesigned website that works on any device. ONC also added a "News & Updates" section to its homepage to help users navigate more seamless to the most recent releases, reports and news updates.
"The original HealthIT.gov was segmented by the types of individuals that came to the site: providers, policymakers, and patients. Users had to click through many pages to find the information they’re seeking," ONC's Director of the Office of Public Affairs and Communication Zhan Caplan wrote in the blog post. "The new site features topic-based navigation that will reduce the number of clicks it takes for users to easily find the content they need."
The website also seeks users' feedback, with a three-question survey at the bottom of each page, to learn more about how its audience uses the resource and continually improve it.
