ONC names winners of health IT product list challenge

The ONC named the winners of its Certified Health IT Product List Data Challenge on Dec. 6.

The challenge, which the HHS agency opened submissions for in July, invited software developers to create tools that analyze data from the ONC's Certified Health IT Product List, a comprehensive list of products that have been approved as part of the agency's certification program.

The challenge aimed to kickstart development of tools to help "enrich healthcare providers, healthcare consumers and the health IT community's understanding of certified health IT," the ONC said in July.

Here are the three winning submissions:

  • ResearchAE ($20,00): A search engine for health and health IT datasets that helps users analyze how ONC-certified health IT systems are being used
  • Shiro Labs ($10,000): A web application that helps providers understand how ONC-certified health IT complements Medicare Quality Payment Program reporting requirements
  • Darena Solutions ($10,000): A mobile application that allows users to view how ONC-certified health IT modules can meet healthcare delivery and quality goals
