The Arrowhead Center, an entrepreneurship and innovation hub at Las Cruces-based New Mexico State University, unveiled a digital health accelerator to extend healthcare services to rural communities Oct. 6.
The program, called HealthSprint and funded by New Mexico Gas Co., is a five-month venture builder program designed to support companies based in New Mexico focused on mobile health, telehealth and wearables, among other digital health technologies.
The Arrowhead Center will accept up to 10 companies, each of which will receive $2,000 to cover professional services like technical writing, website development and regulatory counseling. The program will also connect select companies to funders, partners and potential customers. One company will receive a $20,000 seed investment.
Applicants do not need to be affiliated with New Mexico State University. Selected participants from rural areas will have the option to access HealthSprint curriculum and workshops remotely.
The Arrowhead Center will accept applications for the program until Dec. 10.
