New health tech operations center to bring 400 jobs to North Carolina

North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper announced on Nov. 19 that the state is partnering with Well Dot, a healthcare technology company, to build the company's new operations center in Chapel Hill, N.C.

The $3 million investment in Orange County, N.C., will create 400 healthcare technology jobs in the region. Well Dot, which provides a consumer engagement platform that helps users navigate their health, will use the new operations center as the headquarters for the company's clinical and health experts as well as house software developers, data analysts and corporate staff.

The project is facilitated, in part, by a job development investment grant approved by North Carolina's Economic Investment Committee. Over the course of the 12-year grant, the new operations center is expected to grow the state's economy by $609 million, according to the news release.

Partners on the project include the North Carolina Department of Commerce, Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, North Carolina Community College System, Orange County, the town of Chapel Hill, Orange County Economic Development and Chapel Hill Economic Development.
