Movers and shakers: 6 latest leadership changes affecting health IT

Becker's Hospital Review reported the following health IT executive moves recently affecting hospitals, companies and federal agencies:

1. Michael Nill, COO at Cerner, will leave his position at the Kansas City, Mo.-based EHR vendor in January.

2. Healthmark Industries appointed Mary Ann Drosnock clinical education director.  

3. The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education has selected Bruce A. Metz, PhD, to serve as its first CIO, effective in January.

4. Harry Shum, PhD, executive vice president of Microsoft's artificial intelligence and research group since its founding in 2016, will leave the company in early 2020.

5. American Well appointed Toby Cosgrove, MD, former Cleveland Clinic president and CEO, to its board of directors.

6. Seattle-based University of Washington has selected Bill Neukom, former executive vice president of law and corporate affairs at Microsoft, to chair the external advisory board for its population health initiative.
