Movers and shakers: 10 latest leadership changes affecting health IT

Becker's Hospital Review reported the following health IT executive moves recently affecting hospitals, companies and federal agencies:

1. CVS has poached former Fitbit and Walgreens executive Adam Pellegrini to lead its consumer health initiatives.

2. Fort Myer, Fla.-based Lee Health has selected Rick Schooler to serve as CIO.

3. Jeff Townsend, Cerner executive vice president and chief of innovation, will retire by the end of 2019.

4. Tempus, a Chicago-based biotech startup building a massive library of clinical and molecular data and an accompanying machine learning-powered analytics platform, recently appointed leaders Lauren Silvis as senior vice president of external affairs and Joel Dudley, PhD, as senior vice president of research.

5. Baptist Health South Florida named Mark Coticchia the Coral Gables-based health system's inaugural corporate vice president for innovation.

6., a Tel Aviv-based developer of software for smartphone-based at-home urinalysis, announced the addition of Gary Loveman, PhD, former executive vice president of Aetna, to its board of directors.

7. Darrell Johnson will join Cerner as chief marketing officer, a newly created role at the company.

8. Luis Borgen will lead Athenahealth's finance organization as the Watertown, Mass.-based EHR vendor's new CFO.

9. Jonathan Bush is now executive chairman of Firefly Health, a Boston-based startup for primary care.

10. NextGate appointed Vincent Vitali, former CIO at Chicago-based Norwegian American Hospital, as vice president of strategy and business development.
