Most hospital, clinic execs agree Amazon will 'disrupt' healthcare more than Apple, Google

Jessica Kim Cohen -

Fifty-nine percent of executives from healthcare providers agree Amazon will be the most "disruptive" tech giant to enter the industry, according to a Reaction Data report.

Reaction Data surveyed 97 C-suite executives and directors from various provider organizations, including hospitals, long-term care facilities and specialty clinics, about their view of the future of healthcare.

When asked to explain their reasoning, one CEO who cited Amazon's move into the healthcare market told Reaction Data: "Amazon has a huge market they can use to distribute materials. They are already a household name and the users are not specific to Apple or Android."

Here's how the 97 executives responded when asked, "Which entrant will have the biggest impact?":

1. Amazon: 59 percent

2. Apple: 14 percent

3. Google: 8 percent

4. Microsoft: 7 percent

5. IBM: 4 percent

6. Walmart: 3 percent

7. Salesforce: 1 percent

Three percent of executives responded "other."
