Mercy Technology Services to help implement Epic, provide data analytics at 3 hospitals

Mercy Technology Services, the IT pillar of St. Louis-based Mercy, will assist two hospitals in adopting Epic platforms and will provide one hospital with data analytics services.

Mercy Technology Services is accredited by Epic to offer management and consulting for Epic solutions to other hospitals. MTS has assisted 45 hospitals with Epic implementations so far, and now adds Riverview Health in Noblesville, Ind., and Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md., to its client base.

McLeod Health in Florence S.C., plans to use Mercy's data analytics solution.

"For a small- to mid-size hospital, this technology approach is a low-risk, cost-effective way to get providers up on Epic quickly and then frees them to focus on patient care throughout the lifecycle of their EHR," said Mercy CIO Gil Hoffman in a statement.

Editor's note: This article and headline were updated June 28 to clarify just two hospitals are implementing Epic. The third is working with MTS to adopt a data analytics solution. We apologize for the error.
