Clinical Insight filed a lawsuit in state Supreme Court, alleging that UR owes the company more than $1 million for breaking an intellectual property agreement and software license and support agreements.

UR has denied any wrongdoing, according to the report. The creator of the Pronto cardiology database at the center of the lawsuit is Karl Schwarz, MD, a prominent heart specialist on the UR faculty. Dr. Schwarz left the company, which is now run by CEO Larry Herb, in 2008.
