Staff -

Boston-based Massachusetts General Hospital launched its Epic EHR over the weekend, reports The Boston Globe.

The go-live at Massachusetts General is part of Boston-based Partners HealthCare's massive EHR overhaul which started in June, first launching at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the health system's home care division. The health system reportedly invested $1.2 billion in the new records system.

In addition to Massachusetts General Hospital, Newton (Mass.)-Wellesley Hospital and Massachusetts Eye and Ear also went live on the EHR this weekend, according to the report.

Approximately 2,300 people, both Partners employees and contractors, were on hand this weekend to assist with the go-live, according to the report.
