Livongo Health acquires behavioral health company

Julie Spitzer -

Livongo Health, a digital health startup aimed at supporting people with chronic conditions, has acquired behavioral health solutions provider myStrength, the companies confirmed Jan. 30.

With the acquisition, Livongo will add services to support patients with depression, anxiety, stress, substance use disorder, chronic pain, opioid addiction and insomnia to its Applied Health Signals solution.

"Simply put, myStrength and Livongo are a great fit. We share a commitment to providing solutions that address multiple conditions and deliver measurable outcomes, and we are like-minded when it comes to mission, values and culture," said myStrength co-founder and CEO Scott Cousino. Mr. Cousino, along with all of myStrength's employees, will join Livongo.

To support the expansion, Livongo has brought on Anmol Madan, the former CEO of Ginger.io, as its chief data officer and Julia Hoffman, PhD, former national director of mental health services at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, as vice president of behavioral health strategy.

"We are excited to welcome the myStrength team to the Livongo family and to combine our capabilities to better serve our members and rapidly growing client base of self-insured employers, health plans, health systems and pharmacy benefit managers," said Glen Tullman, executive chairman of Livongo.
