Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medicine is partnering with active wear brand Under Armour to enhance the company's collection of health and fitness applications. The brand's applications currently include UA Record, MapMyFitness, MyFitnessPal and Endomondo.

As per the collaboration, Johns Hopkins clinicians will offer evidence-based guidance in the areas of sleep, fitness, activity and nutrition to better inform Under Armour's 190 million-member strong fitness community.

This new partnership adds to the existing relationship between Johns Hopkins Medicine and Under Armour, which began in 2015. The two organizations formed an advisory panel that includes eight Johns Hopkins physicians who are providing scientific and clinical consultations for the brand's connected fitness strategy

"The research and insight that we discover together will further Under Armour's innovations and empower users with better tools, information, and data for reaching their highest potential," said Mike Lee, chief digital officer for Under Armour.
