Jessica Kim Cohen -

IBM Watson Health has added eight organizations to its medical imaging collaborative, bringing its total member count to 24.

The collaborative brings together health systems, academic medical centers, private radiology practices, ambulatory radiology providers and imaging technology companies in an effort to use medical imaging insights to predict the risk of diabetes, cancer and diseases of the eye, brain, breast and heart.

The new members include Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, IDx, PrivaCors, Strategic Radiology, Sutter Health in Sacramento, Pacific Radiology Group, University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville.

The medical imaging collaborative helped design and curate data for Watson Imaging Clinical Review, IBM Watson Health's first cognitive imaging service, which helps providers identify critical patient cases.
