Here are six recent news updates on key health IT companies.

IBM Watson Health is working with the biopharmaceutical company Celgene to develop a drug safety project.

Three hospitals recently decided to move forward with using MEDITECH's EHR platform.

Chicago-based Rush University Medical Center is working with GE Healthcare Partners to build a command center that will use predictive analytics to manage the flow of patients in the hospital.

A consortium of nine universities, which were awarded a $6.3 million grant from the National Institutes of Health, plan to build software that will integrate a patient-reported outcomes survey tool into EHRs, including Cerner and Epic — which have both signed onto this project as integration collaborators.

Watertown, Mass.-based athenahealth appointed Diane Holman as chief people officer, effective Dec. 5, 2016.

On March 19, three Vancouver Island Health Authority facilities went live on Cerner's EHR. Recognizing the numerous complaints made by physicians at one of the facilities, Island Health began offering select physicians extra money to keep using the system.
