IBM finalizes Phytel acquisition

IBM has officially completed its acquisition of population health management software company Phytel.

IBM announced plans to acquire Phytel at HIMSS15 as part of its introduction of IBM Watson Health, the company's new dedicated healthcare arm.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

"The acquisition of Phytel supports our goal to advance the quality and effectiveness of personal healthcare by enabling secure access to individualized insights and a more complete picture of the many factors that can affect people's health," said Mike Rhodin, senior vice president of IBM Watson.
