IBM and Palo Alto, Calif.-based software company Cloudera have teamed up to expand their artificial intelligence and data management and analysis solutions, the companies announced June 21.
The strategic partnership will build upon the firms' existing AI and advanced data solutions, which will also be co-sold by both companies: IBM will resell Cloudera's Enterprise Data Hub and DataFlow, while Cloudera will offer IBM's Watson Studio and BigSQL to its own customers.
These and other jointly created solutions will also be made available to more organizations via the Apache Hadoop open-source software ecosystem. Within that ecosystem, according to IBM, customers will be able to integrate solutions from both companies to collect, manage, access and explore massive repositories of big data, then develop AI-driven processes based on that data.
