How Rush University is improving patient experience

Mackenzie Garrity -

Chicago-based Rush University System for Health is offering patients a more convenient way to access their information remotely through its partnership with Mytonomy.

Mytonomy is an enterprise software as a service company that offers more than 1,000 educational videos for patients. Rush University has integrated the company's Patient Experience Cloud into its MyChart so patients can access tailored content via their health portal.

Rush University hopes the partnership will improve engagement among patients. Additionally, the health system wants to create long-term, trusted relationships with its patients.

"Deploying Mytonomy into our Epic infrastructure brings us the combination of personalization and high-value content that's easily accessible for our patients, which helps us continue to improve their experience, and build a trusting and loyal relationship with them while providing the tools and knowledge they may want," said Shafiq Rab, MD, the CIO at Rush University. "In only the first week after implementation, we saw quick engagement with the content by our patients. In fact, we found that patients watch entire series of videos, just like they would if researching a non-medical topic on YouTube or Google."
