Staff -

In accordance with its beliefs that care outcomes can be improved, lives can be saved and costs can be reduced by appropriately and effectively wielding health IT and management systems, HIMSS has posed three asks to Congress.

The organization plans to focus its 2015 efforts around the following three requests:

• That Congress support robust interoperability and health information exchange,
• Support healthcare's efforts to combat cyber threats and
• Expand access to telehealth services for Medicare beneficiaries.

These three asks amount to actions on the part of Congress to synchronize national efforts to advance interoperability, advance information sharing legislation, amend current laws and take steps to require CMS to remove barriers to telehealth deployment.
