Healthcare.gov cybersecurity 'incidents' to be reported

Emily Rappleye -

At a House Oversight Committee Hearing, comments from a Government Accountability Office official suggest there have been several cybersecurity "incidents" on Healthcare.gov, according to The Hill.

Gregory Wilshusen, director of Information Security Issues for the GAO said investigators will release a report later this year, as CMS recently gave the GAO a list of the incidents to study.

His comments did not indicate if multiple breaches had occurred, in addition to September's intrusion, when one of the exchange's outer servers was accessed, according to the report. No information was stolen in the September breach.

The GAO previously released a 78-page report in September detailing CMS' lack of security measures.
